Joan Deering, 57, of Lancaster, PA went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2011. She was at home under hospice care after a brief but brave battle with cancer. Born on February 26, 1954 in Philadelphia, PA, Joan was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rafaella Giordano. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Louis Deering, of Lancaster.

Joan was a nurse for Vitas Hospice and founded Pasta Inglese in Ardmore, PA. She was a multi-media artist and an avid animal lover.

In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her daughter, Raquel Deering and son-in-law, Benjamin Olenchock of Natick, MA; her son, Louis-Jordan Deering of Rochester, NY; and her grandson, Winston Olenchock.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1st, at 10:00 a.m. at the Mulberry Street Art Studio, 21 North Mulberry Street, Lancaster, PA.
